Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 27, 2026
In short: Filterio does not collect, store on our servers, or share your personal data. Your photos and videos are processed only on your device. The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no third-party SDKs.
1. Who we are
Filterio is an iPhone app for giving photos and videos a film look. It is developed by Vadim Subbotin (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app accesses and what happens to it.
2. Processing on your device
All photos and videos are processed only on your iPhone. The app never uploads your shots or videos, or information about them, to any server. We have no servers that receive your content, and we do not use accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking or third-party SDKs. The app contains no network features of its own. If a photo you pick is stored in iCloud Photos, iOS itself downloads it on request; the app does not connect to any server. The app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
3. Access to Photos
- Add to your library. Filterio asks for permission to add photos and videos to your Photos library, only to save the finished result. Your originals are never changed.
- Reading what you pick. A photo you choose in the system picker is opened in the app. If you grant library access, Filterio reads the capture date of the photo or video you picked to imprint it on the frame and apply filters. Your library is not browsed.
- Metadata. The original’s metadata (such as date and camera settings) is carried over to the saved copy. By default this includes location, if the original has it. You can turn off Keep Location in Settings, and coordinates are then removed from saved photos and videos. This setting applies to photos (single, batch and Shortcuts) and to videos; a video’s creation date is always kept.
You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Filterio.
4. Camera
Camera access is used only for the built-in camera, which shows the film filter in the viewfinder. Frames are processed on the device and are saved only when you tap the shutter button. The app does not request microphone access and does not record audio.
5. Photos extension & iCloud
When you apply a filter in the Photos editor, the Filterio extension stores a short description of the settings together with the edit (preset identifier, filter strength and a grain parameter) so you can change or revert it. This data stays in your photo library and is synced by Apple through iCloud Photos if you use it. It is never sent to us.
6. Shortcuts and “Open in”
Photos opened with “Open in Filterio” or passed to the “Apply Preset” action in Shortcuts are processed on the device, using your save settings (format, quality, location, optional mark). Temporary working copies are deleted afterwards.
7. Data stored on your device
Your settings (such as save format, quality, location and frame preferences), Favorites and your own combinations are stored only in the app’s storage on your device. A cache of film look data derived from the app’s built-in files and short-lived temporary files are also kept on the device. None of it contains your photos for longer than needed to process them, and all of it is removed when you delete the app.
8. Diagnostics
Performance and crash reports from Apple’s MetricKit are written only to a local log on your device and are not sent anywhere by the app. If you have enabled Share With App Developers in iOS Settings, Apple may share anonymised crash reports with developers under Apple’s own terms; we cannot identify you from them.
9. Sharing & contacting us
When you use Share, the iOS share sheet sends the photo or video to the app or person you choose; that is your decision and it does not pass through us. Any “write to the developer” action opens your own email app. If you email us, we receive your email address and your message, and we use them only to reply and to improve the app; we delete them on request.
10. Purchases & ratings
The current version of Filterio has no in-app purchases, subscriptions or paywalls. If that changes, any purchase would be handled by Apple, and we would update this policy. After your third successful save (a photo, a batch run or a video), and not on your first day of use, the app may show Apple’s standard rating request, at most once per app version. iOS shows and handles that dialog: Filterio does not receive your answer or rating and collects no data. A local counter on your device decides when to ask. You can turn such requests off in iOS Settings (App Store ▸ In-App Ratings & Reviews).
11. Children
Filterio does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
12. Your rights
Because we do not collect or hold your personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete from our side. Data kept on your device can be removed by deleting the app. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, or you have any privacy question, contact us below.
13. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
